Method for preparation of high-quality graphene on the surface of silicon carbide
keywords: graphene, electronics, optoelectronics, conductive coatings, sensors and biosensors
offer number: P-341
The subject of the offer is an improved syntesis method of high quality graphene. The synthesis proceeds on the surface of SiC by superficial graphitisation of the compound in a stream of silicon atoms from an external sublimation source. The Inventor team, from Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science is well-experienced in crystal surfaces research.
Application for flat graphene: microelectronics, spintronics, fotonics, sensors; application for graphene with developed area: energy storage

Application for flat graphene: microelectronics, spintronics, fotonics, sensors; application for graphene with developed area: energy storage
Technology:
The aim was to provide high-quality graphene with a low level of impurities and a basically defectless structure of the graphene crystalline lattice, as well as a method for obtaining such high-quality graphene.
In our synthesis, the increase in silicon partial pressure in the direct vicinity of the surface of silicon carbide subjected to graphitisation slows down the process of sublimation of silicon atoms. As a result, we obtained a better ordered, high-quality graphene. More, this product does not need to be transferred onto other insulating substrates and is ready to be used in electronics.
Advantages:
Advantages:
- high ordering degree
- minimum concentration of all defects in the graphene layer
- amorphous areas on the surface of sample.
- precise process control
- repeatable results
